G-E
is designed in Australia for the Australian taxation system. This
happens to be very similar in New-Zealand and the UK and indeed
G-E is being used in these countries as well as the United Arab
Emirates to name a few. The Tax Information utility
is used to apply the appropriate tax percentage and "wording"
to suit your country as well as the currency.
The Tax Information utility controls the tax percentage and the date that any new
percentage is applied. The Australian figures and wording are set as the default. To apply
the correct rates, currency and wording to suit your country, select Utilities
from the Main Menu. Select Tax Information / Currency from the drop down menu.

Fiscal
Year End (d/m)

Enter
the date of the last day of your fiscal year. In
Australia, this is 30th June. Ensure you enter the
"/".

Business
Id
|
The
Business Identification is the name used for your
business taxation number. In Australia, this is
"ABN" (Australian Business Number). In
New-Zealand, this is "NZ GST No.". In
the UK, this is "VAT Reg No." The wording
entered here is printed on invoices etc preceeding
the actual number entered in "Workshop >
Company Details".

Tax
Name
|
This
is the name used for your tax type. In Australia
and New-Zealand, this is "GST". In the
UK, this is "VAT".

Tax
Rate
|
This
is the perecentage of tax added to all supplies
you sell in G-E excepting those supplies marked
as exempt.

Effective
from (d/m/y)
|
The
date at which a new tax rate is applied. On the
day a new rate is applied, enter the date here.
|
Currency
|
The
currency field of the dialogue offers three different
currency options. Clicking on the arrow reveals
a choice of; Dollar, Pound, and Euro. Select the currency to suit your
country from the list. If your currency is not
listed as an option, you can enter the currency
directly into the field. Eg. 'AED'.
