The Conversion Table lists many conversions most likely required from time to
time in the automotive field. The Conversion Table is very versatile allowing
the user to change existing conversions and add new conversions if
required. To use the Conversion Table, select Utilities from the Main Menu. Select Conversion
Table from the drop down menu. Alternatively, use the Ctrl+T
hotkey combination from the Main Menu. The Conversion Table is displayed.
Move about the
conversion table by clicking on the fields, pressing the Tab
key or using the Alt+Hotkey combinations.
As you enter a
figure, the corresponding conversion is calculated and displayed. Any conversion
may be changed for new values and extra conversions may be added in the five
blank entries. To edit the conversions select the Edit Entry
control. The Conversion List
is presented.
If you wish to change one of the current default
conversions, select the conversion and click Ok. If you wish
to add a new conversion, select one of the blank entries at the bottom of the
list and click Ok. The New Conversion edit dialogue is presented.
Enter the
two units for the conversion. Unit 1 is presented in the left
column of the conversion table. Unit 2 is presented in the
right column of the table. Enter the multiplication factor in the Factor field. Click Ok to save the new
conversion
Your new conversion is now
displayed in the Conversion Table. Select the Restore
Defaults control to restore the conversion table to the original settings.
This will remove any new conversions added to the table.
Tip: The Conversion Table is capable
of running independently of G-E so it can be always at hand. To do this,
open the Conversion Table as above. Click anywhere on the screen outside the
table. The table will shrink to the taskbar and run as a separate program. To
close the table, click the Quit control on the Conversion
Table window.
