The Ledger is built from Categories and Columns. You create categories to suit your business and associate columns with them. Before the Ledger is of any use, you must create categories and associate columns to the categories you create.

G-E stores the ledger information in the columns you associate with categories. The number of categories you can create is unlimited. G-E defaults category names to "Upper Case".

If you are unclear of the categories you require, please ask your accountant for advice.

Examples of category names could be:

PARTS
You would then associate all your parts suppliers as columns to the category.

ADMINISTRATION EXPENSES
You would then associate all your administration suppliers as columns to the category.

BANK CHARGES
You would then associate all bank charges as columns to the category.
